What are the responsibilities and job description for the Retail Supervisor position at Pasta Vita?
Summary of Position:
Incumbent in this position assists with the daily operation of the retail store, supervising the daily activities of the Retail Associates along with the General Manager and Retail Manager.
1. Works alongside the General Manager and Retail Manager to provide direction for employees, supervising daily activities and enforcing policies and procedures and communicating effectively.
2. Ensures the guest experience meets all established standards and results in routine visits; ensures that customers are greeted, served, and responded to in a timely manner.
3. Motivates and leads team to promote Loyalty Program leading to achievement of sign-up objectives and customer return visits.
4. Ensures that all products are displayed and presented in a professional presentation, including monitoring food on shelves to ensure product quality and freshness.
5. Assists with training and supervising of employees through providing performance feedback and communicating and enforcing policies and procedures.
6. Assists with controls cash and other receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures in accordance with restaurant policies and procedures for opening and closing the store each day.
7. Fills in where needed to ensure customer service standards are achieved and the operation is efficient.
8. Assists preparing required paperwork, including forms, reports and schedules in an organized and timely manner.
9. Participates in local store marketing, fundraising initiatives, community outreach and grassroots marketing to promote the Pasta Vita brand.
10. Works regularly and is proficient with operational software and databases including Menulink, Aloha, and Hot Schedules.
11. Ensures that the property is kept clean and well maintained at all times.
12. Completes accredited training in basic safe food handling principles mandatory within 6 months of employment.

Health and Safety Standards:
- Ensures that all equipment is kept clean and in working condition through inspection and preventive maintenance care
- Maintains a safe, secure and healthy environment by establishing, following and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures
- Fully understands and comply with all tribal, federal, state, local and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety, and laws and requirements
- Maintain the 95 health report grade
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with supervisors, staff personnel and customers
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to handle difficult situations and individuals
- Ability to read, interpret, and explain information (laws, regulations, policies) to employees and patrons
- Demonstrated organizational skills and excellent interpersonal skills
- Serv Safe certified or able to complete within 6 months of employment
Education, Experience, and Training
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) years’ experience in varied supervisory or management positions in a Customer Service or Retail Sales environment
- Experience with scheduling, training and resolving employee issues
- Experience opening and closing retail establishments
Physical Demands
- Ability to attend start-up training and on-going training as dictated.
- Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time
