What are the responsibilities and job description for the Photo Studio Production Operations - Sample/Prep position at Patagonia, Inc?

The Patagonia Creative Studio is a full-service in-house agency providing marketing strategy, project management, graphic design, editorial, photographic, film, digital and print production resources. The Creative Studio develops and maintains the visual identity and voice of the company.

In this role, you will be responsible for the management of all photo studio product samples for all E-COMM, GTM, Sales Meeting, prepping samples for photoshoots, and other special project productions. You will liaise with the Sample and QC Manager to determine availability and accuracy of all photo samples, and with the Studio Art Director on all aspects of production and shot list management for select projects.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage the organization and maintenance of the seasonal sample closet.
  • Partner with studio Art Director to prioritize the flow of products to be shot for the Patagonia website. Coordinate samples across all sets as scheduled.
  • Support Prep with daily E-comm shot lists and catalog shot list(s) with page, placement, camera station and any special styling notes.
  • Lint roll, steam and/or iron all products to be shot per request on shot tag i.e., Front, open, back, detail, on model.
  • Make sure each stylist has a full rack of products to style all day every day.
  • Assist the Sample and QC Manager when checking in and tagging all new seasonal samples.
  • Communicate with external partners (Project Managers, Designers, Product Line Managers) to confirm availability of requested product for special projects and source prototypes or missing samples, as necessary.
  • Track all samples in-studio, including any sample that is ‘borrowed’ or taken from the studio. Ensure all product is returned to the sample room.
  • Provide sample and production support for GTM, Catalog, Sales Meetings, and other special projects.

Experience You Bring:

  • Ability to search multiple server volumes containing large numbers of files and locate files quickly.
  • Good understanding of the product development process.
  • Ability to be a technical resource to others.
  • Ability to work well with certain computer software programs, such as Adobe PhotoShop, Microsoft Office, PLM, Excel.
  • Strong writing, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Excellent customer service skills in-person, on the phone and in writing
  • Available to work occasional after-hours to meet deadlines
  • Capable of streamlining and improving processes, and troubleshooting
