What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maui Island Coordinator – Full Time Maui position at PATCH Hawaii?

PATCH is seeking an individual to be responsible for the coordination of services in their respective island communities, including contractual obligations, public relations and community representation.
Essential Duties:

  • Responsible for day-to-day operations of office, program and staff.
  • Accountable for quality control and implementation of Agency policies & procedures.
  • Coordinates and conducts conferences, trainings, focus groups, and workshops that enhance the goals according to PATCH’s strategic plan.
  • Assesses child care needs and resources in the respective communities and determines ways in which PATCH might be able to address those needs.
  • Monitors respective budgets and ensures compliance to all contractual commitments of the program.

Other Duties:

  • Conducts outreach activities to market all PATCH services.
  • Connects child care providers and families to community support systems and provides technical assistance.
  • Attends statewide staff meetings as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:
Usually indoors under regular office conditions. Requires long periods of sitting. May visit houses and child care centers and may occasionally be in crowded areas when attending fairs and outreach events.
Work Hours::
7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday- Friday; duties will require occasional overtime and weekend hours.
Tuesday hours are from 8:30 – 5:30 every other week.
Skills and Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of parenting and community child care issues and resources.
  • Knowledge of State child care licensing requirements is preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in most Microsoft Office products.

Education/Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
  • Four (4) years of experience in early child care or related field.
  • Two years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience with contracts
