We are seeking a skilled and experienced Hospice Billing Expert to join our team. This individual will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely billing processes for hospice services. Responsibilities:

Hospice Billing and Reconciliation:

Review and reconcile hospital claims related to hospice services to ensure accuracy and compliance with billing guidelines.
Analyze discrepancies and collaborate with relevant departments to resolve any billing issues promptly.
Verify billing codes, documentation, and patient information to guarantee accurate reimbursement.

Mass Health Election Forms:

Prepare and submit Mass Health election forms for hospice patients, ensuring timely submission and adherence to regulatory guidelines.
Collaborate with the necessary parties to gather required documentation and information for Mass Health election forms.

Homecare Homebase:

Utilize expertise in Homecare Homebase software to input, update, and manage billing information, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
Train and assist colleagues in using Homecare Homebase effectively for billing-related tasks.

Billing Documentation:

Maintain comprehensive and organized billing documentation, including patient records, billing codes, reimbursement rates, and claim status updates.
Ensure all necessary documentation is accurately completed and stored according to established protocols.

Regulatory Compliance:

Stay up to date with industry regulations, billing guidelines, and reimbursement policies related to hospice services and Mass Health billing.
Ensure all billing practices are compliant with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Collaboration and Communication:

Collaborate with the finance team, clinical staff, and external partners to address billing-related inquiries, resolve issues, and facilitate smooth communication.
Provide clear and concise explanations of billing processes to patients, families, and team members as needed.

Process Improvement:

Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency enhancements within the billing and reimbursement workflow.
Participate in discussions and initiatives aimed at improving overall billing procedures and outcomes.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, Finance, Business, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Previous experience in hospice billing and reconciliation, preferably with a focus on hospital claims and Mass Health election forms.
Proficiency in using Homecare Homebase software for billing and documentation tasks.
Strong knowledge of hospice billing codes, regulations, and reimbursement guidelines.
Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex billing concepts to various stakeholders.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently manage workload.
Familiarity with healthcare industry regulations and compliance standards.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
