Family Advocacy Support Service Assistant
The Family Advocacy Support Service Assistant supports the Family Advocacy Program (FAP) for the Installation Management Command (IMCOM).
The Family Advocacy Program provides comprehensive services to prevent domestic abuse, child abuse and neglect, and addresses child on child problematic sexual behavior through advocacy, support, and training.
The Family Advocacy Support Service Assistant supports the Family Advocacy Program at military installation both in the United States and overseas.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Assist the Family Advocacy Program Manager (FAPM) with the coordination and implementation of FAP efforts to include FAP Trainings, Problematic Sexual Behavior- Child and Youth (PSB-CY), Incident Determination Committee-Clinical Case (IDC-CCSM), Victim Advocacy, New Parent Support and other programs as needed.
- Coordinate schedules, provide logistical support, perform administrative functions, and maintain calendars, training certificates, assist with completing minutes for Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) and IDC-CCSM- Family Advocacy System of Record (FASOR).
- Assist with FAPM with establishing SOPs, Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs) and Memorandum of Agreements (MOAs).
- Provides administrative, technical, and prevention services under the direction of the site FAPM.
- Assists with prevention services and under direction of the site FAPM, may assist with New Parent Support Program, Family Advocacy Program Outreach activities, and the Victim Advocate Program.
Required Education / Experience
- Must possess a bachelor's degree in a social science area.
- Must possess at least three years of direct work experience in family violence (e.g., child abuse / domestic abuse).
- Must possess at least three years of administrative assistance experience.
Minimum Required Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of military personnel automation systems and PC and possess good analytical skills, time management, and be an independent thinker.
- Prior military experience or experience with military programs.
- Must be familiar with U.S. Army rank structure and military culture.
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with others, both in person and / or by telephone to conduct business.
- Travel will be required as needed.
- Experience with Microsoft Suite programs.
- You must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English.
- Must have strong listening skills and strong organizational skills.
- Must possess a current and valid driver's license.
