Patriots Landing in Dupont, WA is looking for a FULL-TIME Activities Coordinator to join their team. This person is responsible for maintaining the physical and mental well-being of community residents by planning and implementing a wide range of activities.

- Prefer experience working with a senior population including individuals with dementia and assisted living needs.
- Must have a clean driving record, Valid WA State Drivers License
- $29 - $31 Hourly / Non-Exempt
Responsibilities
- Uphold Mission, Philosophies, and Values
- Keep abreast of area and community functions.
- Organize and plan the Monthly Activity Calendar, following guidelines for variety, quality, and interest. Ensure that appropriate activities are planned to meet the needs of resident populations served: Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Dementia Care.
- Gather information/publish Monthly newsletters for residents and the community.
- Participate in and coordinate daily in-house activities.
- Have excellent organizational skills and be able to budget time well.
- Organize resident clubs (i.e.; Bridge, Gardening, Book, etc.).
- Maintain activity budget and resident activity fund.
- Interact with the community (i.e.; senior center), constantly promoting the image of the facility.
- Locate and schedule area speakers (authors, travel/slide presentations) for resident interest and enjoyment.
- Have CDL (Commercial driver's License) for driving a community bus.
- Contact area entertainers for special programs and events.
- Communicate with residents regularly as to their preferences, likes, dislikes.
- Implement an exercise program appropriate to the resident population served: Independent, Assisted, and Dementia Care.
- Decorate the community for seasonal and holiday themes.
- Plan at least one special event each month for residents, family, friends, prospect list, and community (i.e.; a Luau, Cinco de Mayo, Country Ho-down, etc).
- Plan and coordinate yearly events, such as a rummage sale, bake sale, Christmas, and/or Spring Bazaar, which involve residents and the community. Assist in placing newspaper ads to promote these events.
- Be creative with new and fun ideas for crafts and projects.
- Shop for and inventory all craft supplies, party supplies, and holiday decorations while staying within budget.
- Have a cheerful, enthusiastic attitude and consistently PROMOTE and ENCOURAGE resident participation in all activities and functions.
- Become a member of the local “Activity Professionals” group which typically meet on a monthly basis.
- Respond and assist with any resident, staff, guest, or community emergency.
- Maintain all equipment in a clean and safe manner.
- Report any unusual incidents to the Executive Director/General Manager or Manager on Duty.
- Maintain a professional, caring approach when dealing with residents, families, staff, visitors, vendors and the general public.
- Participate in the Manager on Duty Program.
- Any other duties as required by the Executive Director/General Manager or the Manager on Duty.
Requirements
- Possess a minimum of 1 year of marketing, public relations, and/or activities planning in a senior living environment preferred.
- Must possess the ability to read, write and speak English on a personal and group level.
- Possess strong oral, written, computer, and telephone skills.
- Must be dependable and have an outgoing, cheerful personality.
- Must be certified in First Aid and CPR, and be capable of meeting all requirements that may be specified by the state or other regulatory agencies.
- Prefer experience working with a senior population including individuals with dementia and assisted living needs.
