Job Title : Grove Worker Department : Grove Supervisor : Frank Torres Type : Full Time-40HR / Week Salary : $19.50
JOB SUMMARY :
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following :
- Maintains, waters, weeds, fertilizes, and trims citrus trees within the groves
- Repairs irrigation valves, lateral lines, tubing Fan Jet sprinklers and nozzles
- Plants, cultivates, and maintains citrus crops;
- Operates motorized sprayers, weed whackers, tractors, pruning shears, brush chippers and other equipment;
- Operates large equipment and other tools to perform crop maintenance;
- Applies insecticides, and herbicides using a backpack sprayer;
- Cleans grove grounds of trash and debris;
- Monitors proper schedules of irrigation systems;
- Makes small repairs to and maintains equipment;
- May assist with other grounds maintenance and tree trimming duties within the City; and
- Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS :
Three years of grounds and tree maintenance experience One year experience pipe fitting required
Experience maintaining groves or working with citrus crops is desirable
QUALIFICATIONS :
Equivalent to a high school diploma. Ability to take direction
