JOB SUMMARY :

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following :

• Maintains, waters, weeds, fertilizes, and trims citrus trees within the groves
• Repairs irrigation valves, lateral lines, tubing Fan Jet sprinklers and nozzles
• Plants, cultivates, and maintains citrus crops;
• Operates motorized sprayers, weed whackers, tractors, pruning shears, brush chippers and other equipment;
• Operates large equipment and other tools to perform crop maintenance;
• Applies insecticides, and herbicides using a backpack sprayer;
• Cleans grove grounds of trash and debris;
• Monitors proper schedules of irrigation systems;
• Makes small repairs to and maintains equipment;
• May assist with other grounds maintenance and tree trimming duties within the City; and
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS :

Three years of grounds and tree maintenance experience One year experience pipe fitting required

Experience maintaining groves or working with citrus crops is desirable

QUALIFICATIONS :

Equivalent to a high school diploma. Ability to take direction
