The Opportunity
As a Mine Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in optimizing underground mining operations using block model implementation in a room and pillar mine. You'll drive innovation, ensure long-term sustainability, and contribute to the efficient extraction of high-quality lime products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain mine plans using block model implementation techniques
- Manage deposit extraction and optimize room and pillar mining operations
- Lead quality control initiatives and process optimization projects for crushing and screening
- Monitor and analyze yield balances and mass balances to ensure efficient operations
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for mining operations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safe and efficient mining practices
- Track and measure the success of work completion against planned objectives
Qualifications:
- BS in Mining Engineering, Geology, Geological Engineering, or a closely related field
- 1-2 years of experience in non-metal mining (aggregate or hard rock)
- Familiarity with block model mining methods in room and pillar mines (essential)
- Strong skills in mine planning, deposit management, crushing and screening, and mass balances
- Experience with yield balances and quality control in mining operations
- Excellent data analysis and interpretation abilities
- Proficiency in mine planning and modeling software
