We at Paws on Chicon try to give back to our community and want to hire employees who would like to be part of that.

We do a Doggy Drag show every year that all the proceeds go to Out Youth ( is a safe place for out youth) We raise funds through the year for many pet organizations in Austin. We really love to be part of our community and want staff that also want to be part of helping!

We are hiring part time and full time positions.

Training period of approximately 3-4 Weeks:

Once you pass our training program, hours may include the following:

Monday – Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Sunday 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Shifts can be up to 10 hours long, with an hour long lunch break.

Must be flexible with possible days and may be asked to fill in while other employees are out.

On a typical day you will:

Offer best-in-class service to our customers and their humans

Work as a team with coworkers

Learn old and new products, including in-depth information about pet nutrition

Receive, stock, and rotate product

Clean dog wash stations and clean around the store

Get ​​to know your customers as a community: their names, their needs, and more

There is a lot of cleaning in this position. When there are no customers we are cleaning the store. Its a pet store and it gets hairy, so we stay on top of it and make sure the store is always clean. ( DO NOT APPLY IF YOU ARE AFRAID TO CLEAN OR AFRAID OF DOGS AND CATS)

You will get your exercise as we do a lot of lifting bags and stocking shelves. We have 3 days were we get shipment that needs to be put away on the shelves. So being able to lift 30-40lb bags is a must.

You must be able to work with all staff members in a manner that contributes to the success of the entire team. We are a team here and we help one another out.

Each Team Member is a crucial part of his or her store and provides Paws on Chicon customers with top-notch service and solutions to non-veterinary questions about their pets.

What you should have:

Retail experience is a plus, but not required. However, a positive attitude and eagerness to help others is required. We can teach you the rest. Paws on Chicon employees must also have:

The Ability to lift up to 50 pounds: You must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis in order to stock the store and to do carry-outs for customers. This is an active role which requires you to be on your feet for the majority of your shift.

The Ability to work a flexible schedule: A Paws on Chicon Team Member is expected to work their scheduled hours and attend any prescheduled training events. This position will include late afternoons, evenings and weekends. Work schedules are established in order to ensure proper staffing at all times. Paws on Chicon stores are open seven days a week and the majority of holidays. Paws on Chicon employees are expected to work throughout the holiday season as needed.

You must be available to float back and forth between our Austin locations when needed.
