What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Planner position at Paychex?
Assist Purchasing Manager with materials planning and inventory requirements process. This is a hands-on position responsible for developing and executing demand & Inventory planning that will enable the company to meet sales and service objectives. Collaboration with other departments, sales, marketing and customer service support teams is essential to achieve operations and sales targets.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Maintain the MRP system item parameters and accuracy.
· Generate Rolling Twelve Month Movement Report / Inventory Reports as instructed.
· Generate MRP weekly.
· Issue production work orders.
· Create, maintain and ensure accurate BOM’s including revision control.
· Responsible for issuing new item numbers.
· Generate and distribute weekly Backorder report.
· Work with QC operations regarding potential expired inventory.
· Manage and issue UPC#’s for all products as well as reporting to all staff.
· Implement recommended adjustments of forecast and inventory targets based on reports from Operations.
· Assist in forecast and inventory planning meetings with Operations & Marketing.
· Work with warehouse manager manage and control inventory accuracy count.
· Manage inventory targets (including safety stock levels ) that are approved by operations.
· Coordinate with Operations & Marketing to suggest products for promotion.
· Assist with developing international price list
· Monitor SKU levels and recommend SKU rationalization in the future.
Knowledge, Experience and Skill:
. Minimum Education Required: College degree preferred. Cosmetics industry experience preferred.
. Minimum Experience Required: 2 years manufacturing Master Scheduling/Inventory Control.
. Skills Required:
· Sage 100, Word, Excel.
· Working knowledge of MRP.
· Analytical, well organized and detail orientated.
· Accuracy and timeliness under pressure.
· Knowledge of turn rates
· Collaborative skills in resolving long and short positions in inventory.
· Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
· Knowledge of OSHA, CALOSHA and CARB regulations.
