The Events Marketing Manager Role:

The Marketing Manager is accountable for developing and implementing strategic marketing plans to generate participant registrations for our in-person and digital events. This role’s primary objectives are to promote events and drive conversions through effective marketing campaigns, initiatives, and communication strategies. This role requires a creative and analytical mindset, with a strong focus on understanding target audiences and leveraging various marketing channels to achieve event registration and revenue goals.


Key Accountabilities:

Develop Marketing Strategies: Create comprehensive marketing strategies tailored to drive event demand in registration. Utilize market research, industry trends, and participant feedback to inform strategy development for pre and post event communication.

Communication Plans: In coordination with cross-functional teams, including content, events, product, sponsorships, and community, create a structured flow of information for event prospects and registered participants,

Content Development: Write copy and manage stakeholders in the creation of compelling event messaging and content tailored to engage and resonate with target audiences. This may include newsletter features, articles, social media content, website updates, and promotional materials.

Marketing Campaigns: Plan, execute, and optimize marketing campaigns across various channels, including digital, social media, email, print, and events. Monitor campaign performance, analyze results, and make data-driven decisions to improve effectiveness.

Marketing integration: Identify opportunities to promote events, products, and membership holistically and efficiently.

Collaboration: Work closely with teammates in marketing, business development, community, and events to align marketing efforts with organizational goals and objectives.

Budget Management: Manage marketing budgets effectively, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to achieve desired outcomes within budget constraints.

Sponsorship: Identifying sponsorship assets in demand communications, website and participant emails to drive revenue.

Measurement and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness of marketing efforts. Generate regular reports on event registration metrics, campaign performance, and ROI to inform decision-making and strategy refinement.


You will bring with you to this role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in events marketing, with a track record of driving participant growth and engagement.
  • Strong understanding of marketing principles, strategies, and tactics.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work cross-functionally and build strong relationships across departments.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to create compelling content and messaging.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms, including email marketing software, social media management tools, and analytics platforms.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, generate insights, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to develop innovative marketing campaigns and initiatives.
  • Knowledge of membership-based organizations, associations, or non-profits is preferred.
  • Trustworthy and credible; high-level of integrity and excellent sense of judgment.
  • Strong relationship builder, influencer, and acts as an ambassador for PCMA.
  • Ability to travel as business needs require.


Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions

  • Ability to perform work utilizing a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time in performing the work.
  • Ability to travel by air or ground transportation as required in performing the work.
