What are the responsibilities and job description for the Materials Planner position at PDS Tech?
Day Shift: 6am - 2pm or 7am - 3pm M-F
The Materials Scheduler is a key contributor to our production team, responsible for efficiently planning and coordinating the flow of materials. As a Materials Scheduler, you will collaborate with purchasing, production, and engineering departments to ensure seamless material availability throughout the production process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Material Planning and Scheduling: Develop and manage production schedules, ensuring timely availability of materials for manufacturing operations.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with purchasing, production, and engineering teams to align material requirements with production needs.
- Experience and Judgment: Rely on your experience and sound judgment to make informed decisions related to material planning and scheduling.
- Leadership: May lead and direct the work of others, ensuring smooth material flow throughout the production cycle.
- Problem-Solving: Address scheduling challenges, adapt to changes, and optimize resource utilization.
- Reporting: Typically report to a manager or department head, providing updates on material availability and production timelines.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in materials planning, production scheduling, or a related field.
