WorkFace Planner

Overview:

We are seeking WorkFace Planners for a project based in Port Sulphur, LA. The primary responsibility of this role is to facilitate the scoping, creation, and management of Installation Work Packages (IWPs) throughout the project duration.

Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning:

   • Participate in construction strategy meetings and contribute to execution plans and area-based sequencing.
   • Collaborate with Project Controls/Change Management regarding potential change orders due to RFIs.
   • Facilitate resource planning conversations to ensure proper staffing aligns with project plans.
   • Ensure integration between estimating, cost control, planning/scheduling, and risk management functions.
   • Review engineering design deliverables and communicate deficiencies to AWP Coordinators.

2. Work Package Development and Implementation:

   • Develop Construction Work Packages (CWPs) and ensure alignment with project requirements.
   • Generate IWPs ensuring logical sequencing and alignment with the Path of Construction.
   • Conduct coordination sessions with craft supervision to review scoping, releases, and close-outs.
   • Identify and manage craft/area-specific constraints and execute effective mitigation strategies.

3. Progress and Reporting:

   • Conduct quantity surveys and monitor construction progress through WorkFace audits.
   • Close out IWPs in coordination with Quality upon completion.
   • Provide accurate progress updates to the Project Controls team.

Requirements:

• Education and Experience:

  • Engineering degree with 5 years of site-based construction experience OR
  • Engineering diploma with 5 years of site-based construction experience OR
  • Construction Craft Trade Professional with 2 years of supervisory experience (General Foreman, Superintendent)

• Knowledge Areas:

  • Proficient expertise in specific craft/trade.
  • Understanding of resource requirements and construction methods.
  • Knowledge of project controls practices and safety requirements.

• Technical Skills:

  • Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Technical writing skills.

• Soft Skills:

  • Leadership competency and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving abilities.

Physical Demands:

The role involves communication via various channels and occasional visits to maintenance sites and industrial facilities, requiring mobility and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Work Environment:

Work environments may include offices, warehouses, or on-site trailers/buildings, with moderate to high noise levels and various equipment and tools present.
