What are the responsibilities and job description for the Account Manager position at Pearson?

Summary:

We're looking for a hyper-organized manager who loves to interact with large multi-client teams to deliver complex projects on-time, on-budget and on-spec (3-9 months per project with several operating simultaneously). You will work as part of an internal team that includes project and production managers that are internally-facing.

Spotlight was acquired by Pearson in March of 2021 a mission-driven startup focused on communicating educational progress information to 60 million students in the U.S. K-12 schools, along with their parents and teachers. Today we are a growing, vibrant team within Pearson's School Assessment division.

Location: REMOTE - US

In this role you will:

  • Understand Spotlight’s contracted customer commitments, and track progress against them.
  • Keep “Project Spec” pages current (adding to these as multiple projects progress), and ensuring these pages are consistently formatted across projects Manage and update customer-facing project plans
  • Coordinate with internal cross-functional teams to move projects forward
  • Develop long-term relationships with a portfolio of clients while serving as primary point of contact
  • Follow up with clients regarding due dates and decisions
  • Utilize JIRA ticketing system for tracking tasks within the organization
  • Plan ahead for client calls by understanding client goals, reviewing the project plan, and knowing the points to cover
  • Put together agendas, schedule calls and meetings with customers; record notes from these calls
  • Work closely with Spotlight’s Project Manager to ensure progress towards milestones and adherence to project specification
  • Interface with technical teams to ensure timely deliveries
  • Work directly with the Director of Client Services and Vice President of Business Development to find opportunities for client relationship expansion – and risks to those relationships

As required by the Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Act, Pearson provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of Colorado only, the range of starting pay for this role is $80k - $90k. This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program, and information on benefits offered is here.
