Summary
The Director, Creative Services is responsible for the creative output of the department with oversight of the creative team and creative processes; the ideation, presentation and execution of a wide variety of client creative needs; budget management and creative quality of client projects, and the operational effectiveness of the creative team. Works to direct the planning, development, and/or implementation of creative services as requested for clients. Collaborates with business teams to translate marketing objectives into creative strategies.
The Director, Creative Services is also responsible for leading all brand level creative initiatives for partner and program marketing, guiding and managing the brand team, organizing and leading brand evaluations and workshops, managing the creation of brand documentation, overseeing large scale planning and production of top of funnel media, developing concepts and strategy for campaign rollout, including TV and video production, radio production and other cross-channel campaign elements.
Additional oversight includes creative department innovation, to continue development, testing, evaluation and implementation of emerging customer-facing technology, tools and products to keep the agency at the leading edge. Areas of focus include testing of efficiency tools to enable faster work with better results, new ideas in student acquisition experience (AR, VR, drone video, etc.), products to drive greater results in partner interactions and business development tools (presentation apps, products, dynamic templates, etc).
Further responsibilities include building strategies that translate audience insights into actionable messaging and creative strategies, working with the conversion and advertising teams to identify areas of performance improvement, and collaboration with cross functional teams to improve the end-to-end customer journey experience.
General Responsibilities
- Assess priorities and departmental resource requirements to manage the department’s work requests and workflow.
- Direct and manage the brand strategy, content strategy and visual experience (design/UX/Video) teams
- Review and provide feedback to the internal/external creative team to ensure quality, accuracy, compliance with project specifications and brand standards.
- Collaborate with internal departments to conduct cross-departmental project meetings to scope and prioritize projects/work requests as well as negotiate due dates and budgets
- Communicate work requests schedules and status updates to internal departments
- Use Project tracking tools (Wrike) to update, track and generate weekly reports on status, as well as quarterly reports on departmental accomplishments and resource allocation
- Direct and manage resource allocation for the the launch of new programs
- Prioritize and complete multiple tasks/projects within deadlines and with a high degree of quality
- Understand and clearly articulate how changes impact timelines. Escalate scheduling and budget risks in a timely and effective manner
- Be able to multi-task and possess excellent organizational skills
- Manage vendor partners and large-scale budgets
General Qualifications
- 4-year degree from an accredited institution in Marketing or equivalent discipline OR appropriate combination of experience and education
- Minimum 5 years of full-time management experience leading a large-scale creative team, creative services department, or agency team
- Extensive knowledge of the creative process and depth of knowledge across many disciplines: graphic design, copy and content marketing, online advertising, brand strategy, and user experience
- Demonstrated ability to handle rigorous attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective communication with stakeholders, including management, creative, production, external clients, and outside vendors.
- Expert skills in Microsoft Office
- Strong understanding of digital marketing tactics and full funnel marketing strategy
- Understanding of content marketing best practices and optimizing content for specific audience segments across the entire customer journey
- Ability to work quickly in a fast-paced environment, comfort with ambiguity, and agile approach to change
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Manages the creative department and conducts full supervision in terms of project management, process, and staffing
As required by the Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Act, Pearson provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of Colorado only, the range of starting pay for this role is $115,000 - $145,000.
