Position Summary
The Director, Paid Media will report to the Senior Director, Paid Media and will be responsible for working with Marketing Leadership to define and execute a paid marketing strategy that leads to increased engagement and enrollments for Pearson Virtual Schools. This person will manage a team of direct reports and agency partners to ensure we’re hitting our key business goals through expert utilization of full funnel marketing strategies that includes understanding of a cohesive user experience from awareness tactics to lead nurture and customer retention.
We’re looking for someone who has experience managing a multi-channel strategy and proven experience driving success across different product lines and geographical areas. The person in this position must be highly driven, analytical, detail-oriented, well-organized and a paid marketing expert in video, audio, paid search, paid social/display channels and building personalized digital experiences.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee execution of paid marketing and budget strategy across all media channels and funnel stages in various geographies for all lines of business at Pearson Virtual Schools, and work with analytics to demonstrate ROI.
- Develop a deep understanding of customer base and stages of decision points across their enrollment journey and implement marketing experiences that will lead to next best action, and partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure a coherent and seamless experience across various touchpoints.
- Champion ‘Best in Class’ mindset and lead team in development of highly effective media plans, actively monitor and adjust execution to accommodate specific geographic needs. Provide leadership with regular insights on plan performance with recommendation to meet/exceed goals.
- Research, recommend and implement new marketing channels or methodologies to accurately target audience with right message, on right platform.
- Mentor and manage a small, nimble team of digital marketers and agency partners to ensure they meet/exceed strategic and executional expectations as well as provide best in class service.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum 10 years paid media strategy and execution and 5 years directly managing and mentoring a team. Agency experience is a plus.
- Ability to autonomously make key operational and/or functional area decisions and ensure successful execution in a timely manner.
- Ability to influence within and across divisions, experience partnering with cross-functional teams and or agency partners.
- Extensive experience with improving customer experience and audience segmentation through digital targeting and messaging tactics.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong commitment to timelines, accuracy, and professionalism.
- Team leader, team player and positive attitude in a results-driven environment.
- Extensive knowledge of online and offline marketing landscape and trends.
- Data-driven approach and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment with all levels of management.
