Overview
This role will work closely with the Events and Marketing teams, interact with the organization's executive leaders, and report to the Director, Conferences and Events.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, hospitality, or a related discipline preferred
- 2 year(s) experience in event planning, project management, or administrative support in related environment
- Strong technical knowledge, Cvent and Microsoft Office experience desired
- Flexibility to travel both domestically and internationally, up to five times a year
- Excellent attention to detail, highly effective organizational and time management skills
- The ability to work effectively autonomously and as part of a team
- Outstanding organizational, written, communication, interpersonal, production, and negotiation skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment and manage relationships with stakeholders including staff, authors, keynote speakers, and executive level decision makers
- Ability to remain calm in a high-pressure, fast-paced, and deadline-driven environments
- Exceptional problem-solving and technical skills
- Creative, curious, and unafraid to share new ideas and initiatives
Responsibilities include:
- Process and prepare documents, such as but not limited to sponsorship applications, vendor spreadsheets, and expense reports
- Communicate and manage expectations for event execution to project teams
- Assist in developing & ordering marketing promotional materials from authorized vendors
- Work closely with Sales Managers to ensure conference materials have arrived on time
- Support all aspects of planning for the GED Annual Conference to include agenda development, registration build and management, app creation, speakers, communications, survey development, technology needs, meeting space and food & beverage planning, signage, templates, property sourcing, promo items, creative, vendor-relations, accounts payable, timelines, etc while following company processes and guidelines
- Operate as a point of contact to schedule, build, facilitate and host small to large format external virtual events with high visibility, while possessing exceptional knowledge of webinar and virtual environment platforms
- Additional duties may be assigned as needed to support the business
Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the Colorado, California, Washington State, and New York City laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:
Minimum full-time salary range is between $50,000 - $55,000.
