Our growth has us looking for a data analyst to join our Assurance Services team. Responsibilities include managing data sets, developing reports, and troubleshooting data issues. This role is instrumental in motivating our team of professionals by delivering quality client service. In addition, analyze financial data, reporting, and planning for Assurance and Tax business practices.
The ideal candidate will use their passion for big data and analytics to provide insights to the business covering various topics. In addition, they will be responsible for conducting both recurring and ad hoc analyses for business users.
Data Analyst Responsibilities include:
- Technical writing experience in relevant areas, including queries, reports, and presentations
- Robust knowledge of VBA & M, SQL codes, and R scripts to apply relational data analysis tasks such as loading data, transforming, manipulating, aggregating, and charting
- High–level understanding and skill set in Excel with the ability to learn other analytic tools
- Creating efficiencies to create efficiencies with controlling a set of data using different formulas and macros
- Analyze financial data, reporting, and planning for business practices
- 3 years experience mining data as a data analyst
- Proven analytic skills, including mining, evaluation, analysis, and visualization
- Identify business trends to recommend appropriate courses of action to management to deal with threats and opportunities.
- Managing and filtering data, including creation, updates, and deletion.
- Design economic models, enabling senior leaders to analyze and interpret data more efficiently and assisting in making financial decisions
- Reviewing reports to identify and correct problems
- Overseeing the quality of generated imported data
- Managing confidential data and information as needed according to current guidelines.
- Helping develop reports and analysis.
- Managing and designing reports, including data sources and metadata.
- Identifying and revising reporting requirements.
- Supporting initiatives for data integrity and normalization.
- Working with our IT team when assessing tests and implementing new or upgraded software
- Generating reports as needed from multiple systems.
- Troubleshooting to correct inefficiencies when generating the database and other ancillary reports.
- Providing a level of expertise in data storage structures, data mining, and data refinement.
- Ability to assess potential risks.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or Master's degree in Statistics or Applied Mathematics or equivalent experience
- Work experience as a data analyst
- Analyzing existing tools and databases when providing software solution recommendations.
- Ability to educate and work with staff to translate business requirements into non-technical terms.
- High-level experience in methodologies and processes when managing data
- Highly versatile in terms of data transformation and filtering operations
- Demonstrated experience working with large databases.
- Identification and understanding of metadata standards.
- High-level written and verbal communication skills.
