The Opportunity: Human Resources Generalist               

Your Role: The Human Resources Generalist will support the daily functions of the Human Resources department including recruitment, HRIS, benefits and leave, employee relations, and administering company policies and practices. The ideal candidate will partner with a collaborative team ideology to identify opportunities to bridge gaps, continuously improve initiatives and processes, identify future trends, and foster the growth of individual strengths to elevate PEKO’s culture.

 Essential Functions:

  • Create and execute learning and development programs and initiatives for all employees.
  • Facilitate new employee introduction, open enrollment and escalating complex questions to vendors.
  • Support safety compliance including respiratory and hearing programs and related reporting.
  • Develop recommendations for enhancing employee experience and process improvements.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Proactively reviews compliance and best practice with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Takes ownership by developing and implementing HR related programs (for example - employee communications, wellness, employee engagement initiatives).
  • Provides back-up support for payroll processing and time and attendance.

Reports To: Human Resources Director

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5 years of Human Resources experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Bachelor of Science in related field required.
  • MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Strong knowledge of applicable laws and ability to quickly interpret, apply, and administer policies and procedures.
  • Analytical skills including the ability to research, analyze and make recommendations.
