What are the responsibilities and job description for the Small Boats position at Peloria Paradise Point?
Job Title: Small Boat Service & Operations Department: Small Boats Reports to: Marina Manager
Position Prerequisites:
1. High school education preferred.
2. Must be capable of working unsupervised.
3. Some small tool knowledge.
4. Ability to work with guest in all areas with a positive approach.
5. Ability to concentrate on detail and follow-up work while maintaining a high standard of guest satisfaction.
6. Ability to work as a team.
7. Knowledge of boat trailers, winches and their operation.
8. Knowledge of water crafts and how to properly operate them.
Purpose:
Orients boat renters on operation of boat and the equipment, assists guests in and out of boats. Launches and moors boats. May conduct minor repairs to boats.
Major Duties:
1. Orient customer on how to actually drive and operate the boat.
2. Responsible for initial inventory verification on the boat.
3. Provide guests with lake and resort information.
4. Pre-check of boats and equipment.
5. Some maintenance of boats and work area may be required.
6. Move boats into and out of water for customers using winch trailers.
7. Cleaning the boats and preparing for next rental.
8. Required to handle propane. Be knowledgeable in the handling of propane.
9. Control inventory flow of actual boats available using load-out list.
10. Ensure proper inventory is on board boat prior to rental (i.e. life jackets, fire extinguisher, etc.)
11. Maintain a clean work area.
12. Control traffic in marina area and assist customers with mooring boats.
13. Greet all customers as they enter your work area. Offer assistance immediately. Thank all customers as they leave work area.
14. Complete merchandise and product knowledge is imperative in satisfying customer needs. It is each small boat attendant’s responsibility to maintain a working knowledge of merchandise, boats, and service available.
15. Always operate with an emphasis on guest hospitality.
17. Use “clean as you go” method when performing your work duties.
18. Operate equipment with energy conservation in mind.
19. Adhere to safety policies.
20. Be present at all departmental, resort and training meetings.
21. Maintain a cooperative, team-like attitude in working with supervisors and fellow employees (both within the department and in other resort departments).
22. Maintain a positive attitude toward the resort and the job being performed.
General:
1. Be aware of daily activities and events at the resort.
2. Be knowledgeable of all resort operations.
3. Perform all reasonable job requests assigned by management.
4. Material handling: stooping, bending, lifting an average of 30 pounds will be part of some job requirements.
