Penick Village continuing care retirement community is seeking a Staff Development Infection Preventionist R.N. (SDIP)to help lead the Skilled Nursing Department. The SDIP must be a compassionate professional who can lead with vigor and confidence to positively influence the Healthcare Team members to carry out Penick Village's vision and goals of delivering the highest level of care in our community. The SDIP will strive to protect the most important resource at Penick Village- our people. The SDIP is responsible for identifying, investigating, monitoring, and contact tracing healthcare-associated infections. The SDIP collaborates with teams and individuals to create infection prevention strategies, provide feedback, and sustain infection prevention strategies. The SDIP conducts educational and training activities for healthcare workers through instruction and dissemination of information on healthcare practices. You are responsible for implementing and monitoring policies and procedure of the facility including hands on training. You ensure that all monthly nursing education is completed by staff to help orient new employees.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:
- Must have completed an approved Infection Preventionist Certification course and attend state mandated program for Infection Control and Epidemiology
- Registered Nurse Licensed in good standing with North Carolina Board of Nursing
This is an on-site position that is typically scheduled 5 days per week, but may require some evening or weekend or on-call work.
