Receptionist
Works forty hours per week between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M.; exact hours to be determined by the Supervisor of Medical Records . Answer and direct all incoming calls assuring compliance with the Penn Home IT and JCAHO policies and procedures.
Accountabilities
• Receive all incoming phone calls, and utilize appropriate greeting within established time frame.
• Preserves confidentiality, privacy and dignity of patients and visitors according to policy.
• Monitor telephone lines to ensure no caller is left unattended.
• Process mail, both incoming and outgoing. Maintenance of postage meter and required funds.
• Maintains copier and fax machines with fresh supply of paper to assure receipt of all faxed information and timely distribution of same.
• Monitors and maintains sufficient office supplies and materials, including copy paper.
• Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures
• Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization
Required Education and Experience
• H.S. Diploma/GED is required
• • 2 years’ of Customer Service experience.
• Work well under pressure, exercise independent judgment, problem solving, and strong decision making skills.
• Must have the ability to plan and organize diversified duties in a broad spectrum of responsibilities. Initiative and judgment is needed in determining priorities on a daily basis.
• Must have the ability to assess problems and make appropriate resolutions.
As part of our COVID-19 response, this position may currently be offering partial or full remote work. However, in the near future this position will require full or partial on-site work.
