We have an opportunity for a Compliance Manager to join our Bishop Woods, WI team. You will be responsible for directing and maintaining our commitment to all aspects of global compliance in the region, with the focus on trade compliance. The region comprises North and South America and includes LATAM. Most of the role will be devoted to the States, but the role also supports our operations in Mexico and our business activities elsewhere in the Americas. You will provide support, advice, and training, and be responsible for directing local implementation and documentation of required processes and auditing the same. You will be a leader, a technical expert and process focused. You will: Provide support, advice and training and be responsible for directing local implementation and documentation of required trade compliance processes, and auditing the same Responsible to ensure that in-region businesses follow applicable trade and general compliance processes and guidelines Facilitate the global trade compliance program by driving effective policies, procedures, training, assessments, audits, and practices Drive the compliance culture within the business as it relates to third parties and import/export activities by connecting employees to compliance risks and controls Responsible for ensuring that trade compliance related requirements and business processes associated with cross-border movements function smoothly, while also ensuring that issues and risks are identified, prioritized, and managed efficiently Provide support, advice and training regarding maquiladora structures and related activities Ensure import/export processes and procedures are appropriate for the risk and complexity of the company and that they are effectively implemented and followed Ensure that processes and procedures aimed at identifying and mitigating sanctioned country/sanctioned party risk are implemented and followed at all in-region sites Provide guidance to employees concerning all applicable compliance requirements and obligations Drive corrective actions as necessary to follow compliance measures Research and analyze restricted party screening potential hits to ensure accurate resolution Research and assist with Harmonized Tariff Classification to ensure consistency in a global environment Ensure trade compliance planning / strategies are linked to the corporate vision and program effectiveness As needed, manage, or oversee Import/Export shipments for the assigned region, which includes drafting of commercial documents, customs filings, licenses where applicable, and ensure transportation is optimized in regard to cost (including duties/taxes when applicable) and transportation time Responsible for drafting standard operating procedures, regional and global PIMS processes, and developing and implementing in their region a risk-based approach to all areas of trade compliance; side-by-side work on processes with various cross-functional teams Responsible for standard work, applications, reporting for any duty drawback or exclusion programs. Responsible for all import and export reports using government portal. Responsible to develop and maintain Export Control Classification Program. First review of all transaction summaries related to highly sanctioned countries (examples, Myanmar and Venezuela), ensure accurate and complete; quickly determine the need to send to outside counsel or approve with no counsel review if no risk to the transaction. Provide training and support to business for all trade compliance integrated tools Required (when allowed) regular travel to in-region sites; up to 30% travel required from time to time Key Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required 10 years of relevant experience, including experience with maquiladora structures MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio Possess a high energy level and strong work ethic with a commitment to continuous improvement in a dynamic and changing environment that strives to exceed expectations. Strong operational excellence including the balancing of short and long-term business needs Strong communication skills (written and verbal) in English.
