Overview:

Paradeisos Coffee Shop, a flagship coffee shop under People Loving Nashville (PLN), is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to fill the role of Assistant Manager. “Paradeisos", meaning "garden" in Greek, symbolizes the opportunity to create tiny gardens of life and flourishing within our community. As the Assistant Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the General Manager in leading the team, overseeing daily operations, and contributing to the mission of bringing Relief, Community, Connection, and Restoration to our community.

Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership:

• Assist the General Manager in leading and managing daily store operations, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and efficient environment.
• Supervise and coordinate the work of baristas and shift supervisors, providing guidance to meet service and quality standards.
• Oversee cleanliness, organization, and stock levels within the coffee shop.

Customer Service Excellence:

• Model and promote excellent customer service by providing a positive and friendly experience for customers.
• Address customer concerns and resolve issues in a professional and effective manner.

Team Collaboration:

• Collaborate with the General Manager to implement and enforce company policies, procedures, and standards.
• Foster a positive and inclusive work culture, encouraging teamwork, communication, and a shared sense of purpose.
• Train and mentor team members, providing guidance on product knowledge and service standards.

Inventory Management:

• Assist in monitoring and managing inventory levels, placing orders as needed, and ensuring stock is replenished in a timely manner.
• Oversee the receiving and organization of stock deliveries.

Operational Efficiency:

• Ensure adherence to drink and food recipes and procedures to maintain consistent, high-quality products.
• Champion safe and responsible work practices, ensuring compliance at all times.

Leadership and Development:

• Assist in the development and implementation of training programs for new and existing team members.
• Support the General Manager in assessing performance, providing feedback, and conducting performance reviews.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a supervisory or assistant management role within the food and beverage industry, preferably in a coffee shop setting.
• Strong leadership abilities, demonstrating trustworthiness and fostering a positive work culture.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to address challenges creatively and effectively.
• Knowledge of coffee preparation techniques, origins, and product offerings.
• Commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and evenings.
