3. Eligible for 70.1 transfer by way of current permanent status in a title deemed comparable to Developmental Disabilities Program Specialist 1 by the Department of Civil Service (Must also be within 2 salary grades of the targeted title).

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direction of the Treatment Team Leader, the incumbent will be responsible for assisting with the oversight of 11 State Operated Day Habilitation Programs. The DDPS1 will supervise 13 Habilitation Specialist 2s, 33 Habilitation Specialist 1s, 4 DA 2s, 66 DSAs and 2 LPNs.
The incumbent will provide administrative leadership and oversight with the following responsibilities. The DDPS1 along with the Treatment Team Leader will oversee the Day Habilitation Program and implementation of the Day Habilitation plans in the 11 Day Habilitation sites. These sites serve up to 430 individuals. The DDPS 1 along with the TTL will supervise the monthly billing associated with the provision of services for each of the 11 Day Habilitation programs. The DDPS 1 along with the Treatment Team Leader will oversee the Employment Program. It is expected the Employment Program will serve 100 individuals. Those responsibilities include establishing and overseeing the community prevocational program, supervise the Habilitation Specialist 2 involved in the employment program and develop policies relating to the prevocational program. The DDPS 1 along with the TTL will also supervise the approximate 35 direct care staff who carry out employment activities.
Travel will be required within Orange, Rockland, and Westchester counties.
