The HR Generalist position will perform the following duties:
The HR Generalist position will perform the following duties:
- Recruits and sources qualified candidates for open positions through a variety of means including but not limited to postings, job boards, social media, networking, etc.
- Reviews and screens applications and resumes to determine candidates meet requirements for open positions and hiring compliance.
- Adheres to appropriate courses of action to remain within hiring compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations. Drives compliance with onboarding requirements
- Evaluates and recommends to hiring manager screened applicants for specific openings in accordance with requirements and specifications
- Consults with other HR staff and hiring managers regarding employment decisions, including hiring salary
- Facilitating recruitment and HR generalist activities such as advertising/job marketing, screening and interviewing; criminal background checks, drug tests, onboarding, job fairs, and onboarding new employees
- Serves as in-house consultant on recruiting and retention practices and strategies
- Supports the company's college recruiting efforts by developing relationships with partner universities and participating in recruiting activities to attract students to both intern and regular job openings. Manage special related programs.
- Audits data in Applicant Tracking System to ensure compliance policies, practices, and regulatory requirements
- Serves as liaison with HRIS in resolving related issues. Makes recommendations and offers solutions for continual process improvements
- Assist with payroll timekeeping system and payroll
- Maintains all local personnel records, including training and attendance records; workers comp reports and other related requirements
- Assists with benefit questions, trainings, and enrollment
- Provides direct support and consultation for associate relations matters, including disciplinary action. Interprets company policies and procedures to include communication to associates
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Benefits
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business, or related area
- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in staffing. sourcing and/or recruitment
- Experience administering behavioral-based interviews
- Ability to make process improvement recommendations and small project management
- Demonstrated accountability and initiative to work in teams and as an individual
- Commitment to excellence in service and relationship management
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, Calendar and event management, PowerPoint
- Experience with applicant tracking system and connective on-boarding technologies
Preferred Qualifications
5 years experience as a HR Generalist performing all the functions for this opportunity
- Experience in large, decentralized organization
- Experience working and leveraging automation and technologies to facilitate a compliant hiring process
