What are the responsibilities and job description for the Embedded Software Development/Support position at Performance?
Performance Software and its sister company, Talent Tier, are medium-sized companies with a great work/life balance, specializing in providing innovative embedded software to our client companies. We are looking for a talented embedded software engineer to do a 1-2 year project where you could work from home but travel to Indianapolis two times per month, unless you live in the Indianapolis area. This can be full-time[1] with great benefits or hourly[2] with excellent hourly rates, and Medical/Dental/Vision benefits are available.
Job Description
You would use your embedded software and Linux experience to work on developing real-world demonstrations for the Performance Defense 5G Cyberserver. This individual will work in a team environment with Product Managers, Company Executives, Product Consultants, CSEs and end-user customers to understand the clients’ requirements, improve demo environments, deploy technical solutions and possibly influence product design.
This position requires about two weeks of travel per month unless you live in Indianapolis. This includes national user groups, trade shows, and field demos requiring technical demonstration assistance. You would participate in ongoing professional development activities, including product knowledge and third-party instruction/certification such as cybersecurity credentials.

Job Requirements:
At least 4 years of experience and demonstrated expertise in:
- Embedded software development, ARM processor family
- Telecommunication System of Chip modules such as 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth is highly desirable but not required
- Some Linux OS and security extensions experience
- Knowledge of 5G and Cybersecurity is highly desirable
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and the ability to document technical use cases and proposed prototypes
