Tax Resource Coordinator

We’re adding a new role to our tax department and looking for someone who is tech-savvy and adept at project management. For those who have experience at a CPA firm, this is primarily a scheduler position to start, but with potential to broaden over time. As the Tax Engagement Coordinator, you’ll work closely with tax department leadership to ensure efficiency in tax department operations. While most administrative roles focus on what needs to get done, this role will also focus on how we get things done.

Primary Responsibilities
The Tax Engagement Coordinator will support the tax department with monitoring, scheduling, and tracking progress of tax engagements. The job can be wide in scope, but to distill it down to key duties:
- Attend weekly tax team meetings
- Serve as central point of contact for employees seeking work or requiring staffing for engagements between weekly meetings
- Arrange schedules and regulate flow of work within or between teams to maximize equitable utilization of staff
- Monitor the job tickler and assists engagement owners to ensure tickler is updated and accurate
- Assist with engagement workflow to ensure timely and orderly completion of work
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university is preferred; or three or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent verbal communication skills appropriate to a professional services setting
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to draft routine internal correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees at all levels
- Has intermediate to advanced specialized computer skills that require mastery of applicable industry specific software and frequent changes in software environment. Must have proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Experience with PowerBI is preferred. Adaptability to new software/technologies as required.
- Flexibility to work overtime, including evenings and weekends
- Experience as a scheduler at a large local/regional accounting firm is preferred
