POSITION SUMMARY: Provides direct patient care in a hospital setting to patient’s and their families/significant other. The Certified Nurses Aid/Nurse Aid cares for a broad range of patient’s, from neonate to geriatric. The Certified Nurses Aid/Nurses Aid shows a commitment to moral values, integrity and character by respecting the beliefs and worth of others. Communicates openly and honestly w/others. Supports a customer sensitive organization by treating all people well. Works to enhance the perception of the hospital in a positive way. Strives to improve the financial viability of the hospital. Continuously responds to the evolving needs of our customers. Demonstrates the ability to work with others through good communication skills, adaptability, teamwork, and time management. Demonstrates general safety measures with emphasis on patient safety. Provides age and cultural appropriate care.

- Exhibits initiative by receiving report from preceding shift co-worker and Team Leader, which will give them the appropriate data to provide appropriate care to their patient/resident. Demonstrates the ability to perform patient related tasks and skills in a competent manner. Demonstrates the ability to operate the necessary equipment to appropriately care for the patient/resident.
- Accepts responsibility to obtain only needed and necessary supplies for each patient/resident. Exhibits responsibility for assigned cleaning duties for the maintenance of a clean, orderly unit. Maintains a safe environment by following appropriate policy and procedures, i.e., proper handling of specimens, appropriate disposal of wastes and sharps, follow appropriate isolation precautions.
- Accurately documents their delivery of care into CPSI/or activity flow sheets. Documents in an accurate and timely manner. Documents and reports to their Team Leader any patient problems, concerns and any noted variations from patient/Resident’s normal status
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
- Current CNA certification.
- One year prior hospital CNA experience preferred.
- Prior secretarial experience preferred.
