About the Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Medical Biller to join its team and proficiently execute day-to-day billing operations. Successful candidates will have a robust professional background with experience working with Medicaid payors. Candidates should be comfortable working independently and possess a high level of attention to detail.
Essential Skills and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Certification from an accredited technical program is highly preferred
- Minimum of four (4) years of relevant professional experience
- Familiarity with UB-04 and CMS-1500 billing
- Proficiency using HHAeXchange software required
- Robust knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and compliance
- Working knowledge of Medicaid and/or state-funded payors
Desirable Skills & Attibutes
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with an emphasis on attention to detail
- High-level competency with medical billing regulations and requirements
Role Duties & Responsibilities
- Successfully execute day-to-day billing operations and uphold all billing department policies and procedures as required.
- Ensure proper submission and processing of medical claims.
- Review superbills for accuracy prior to submission and make corrections as required.
- Conduct follow-up calls to insurance carriers to check claims status.
- Submit appeal and/or review requests on denial claims.
- Accurately post patient payments, EOBs, and ERAs to patient accounts.
- Conduct routine claims audits to ensure all claims are submitted and paid upon.
- Adhere to the highest standards of patient confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA regulations at all times.
- Other duties as required.
