Perteet Inc., a civil engineering, planning, environmental and construction management firm, with a public sector client focus, seeks a qualified Environmental Planner (at either the 1 or 2 level) to assist our environmental services team on a full-time basis. Located in one of Perteet’s Puget Sound offices, this position would provide document research and preparation as well as permitting support for a wide range of environmental, transportation, and civil engineering projects. The position responsibilities will include use of GIS tools and applications to perform graphical and technical analysis needed in the preparation of environmental documents with local, state, and federal agencies. The successful candidate will support the Environmental Division and other Perteet service groups with a wide range of project tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a diverse environmental team to prepare geospatial analysis, develop exhibits, perform research, and prepare environmental documentation in support of design and permitting projects.
- Work under supervision to coordinate environmental elements of larger projects including researching agency requirements, compiling, and consolidating existing documentation, assisting with field investigation and assessments, and supporting project team members to monitor, track and report on environmental requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Knowledge of map production using ArcGIS with AutoCAD
- Ability and desire to perform field activities in support of critical area, contaminated site, and industrial land use projects
- Knowledge of the DOE Wetland Rating System and wetland delineation using the USCAE 1987 delineation manual and regional supplements
- Knowledge of GIS dataset types and imagery formats, data resources, and limitations
- Experience with relational databases
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental, planning or GIS related field
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and under daily supervision
- Proficiency with ARCGIS, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint
- Ability to prepare well-written documents and be responsive to internal and agency input
- Self-starter with strong time management skills
- Ability to conduct occasional field site visits in inclement weather on variable, difficult terrain
Pay Range:
$30.00 to $45.00 per hour depending upon experience
