Pet Pals is a family owned and operated business serving the Monterey Bay area for over 35 years. Our work environment is team-oriented, friendly and professional.

We're seeking a friendly, responsible, energetic, self-motivated team member. We are dedicated to providing excellent customer service and great pricing! Job duties include stocking, customer service, cashiering and forklift operation.

Candidates with strong communication skills who can make customers feel welcome in our store will stand out. You will help identify client needs, present and answer questions about our products and services and recommend solutions. A positive attitude and a desire to promptly resolve potential customer issues or complaints will make you successful in this role. Ultimately, you will ensure that customers leave our store satisfied and you will contribute to the store’s profitability.

Physical labor includes lifting bags of pet food and cat litter, climbing ladders, operating a forklift and order picker. We spend most of the workday on our feet. Full timers are on an alternative work schedule; 10 hour days, 4 days a week. Beginning pay is $20/hr.

Work Schedule (fixed):
This is a Full-Time position, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 40 hrs/week. Sunday, Monday and Wednesday off.

Requirements:

• Greet and direct customers
• Provide accurate information (e.g. product features, pricing)
• Answer customers’ questions about specific products/services
• Ensure shelves are fully stocked
• Accurate cash handling skills
• Ability to communicate clearly with customers, coworkers and management
• Available to work weekends and holidays
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with regularity
• Pet experience a plus
• Ability to perform in fast-paced environments
• Forklift experience
