TRAINING AND COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST
The Training and Communications Specialist is responsible for LMS administration, training material design and facilitation, and with managing the flow of communications from Pet Central to the field leaders, stores, and franchisees. In addition, this role provides direct support to the Communication & Training Teams.
Responsibilities/Qualifications
PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES
- Designing clear and effective computer-based/web-based, self-study, and instructor-led course materials.
- Developing & facilitating onboarding and training materials for Wag N Wash stores and owners.
- Leading the scheduling and tracking of all training, including new store and owner training, merchandise training and product training implementation.
- Demonstrating facilitation skills to a diverse audience with varying needs.
- Collaborating with subject matter experts, stakeholders, and Store Operations to develop topical information into a final product.
- Owning and overseeing training administration and reporting.
- Administering the Learning Management System.
- Managing the store communications site and all administrative functions, including adding new users, updating store alignment, resetting passwords, managing dashboards, and categories.
- Coordinating with all departments at Pet Central to ensure all documented Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are up to date, formatted correctly, and easily searchable.
- Providing backup for reviewing and gatekeeping all messages, tasks, and documents distributed to the field by thoroughly reviewing for content, structure, spelling, and grammar.
- Reacting quickly to urgent Store Communication requests if the Operations and Communications Specialist is unavailable.
- Managing and responding to training and communication support tickets in Service Desk Plus.
- Performing miscellaneous duties and requirements related to training, operations, and communication.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 2 years’ experience in developing training-related content preferably in a retail or customer service environment.
- Experience with learning management system administration, preferably Adobe Captivate Prime.
- 2 years’ experience in communications, operations, or customer service-related fields, preferably in a retail or customer service environment.
- Solid analytical, problem-solving, and customer interaction skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Ability to learn quickly and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent skills with MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) along with eLearning/instructional design software (Captivate, Articulate, Adobe Premier Pro, Canva
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Experience developing online learning (computer/web-based training).
