Peterson Trucks has the immediate need for an experienced Service Writer at our Eugene, OR location.
Summary
The Service Writer, Trucks performs administrative and clerical duties in support of the department’s equipment service function and coordinates the department’s scheduled service activities.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED; and a minimum of one year of directly related experience as a service writer in the truck or similar industry; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Customer service experience required.

- Gather information regarding the vehicle complaint, customer contact, and necessary information to generate a repair order and open work order.
- Work with the shop lead / foreman to schedule diagnostic time to determine the cause of the problem.
- Provide daily updates to customers
- Collect coverage information to determine who will be responsible for payment of services
- Develop cost estimates for corrective action needed
- Maintain customer, shop and parts communications
- Monitor shop progress on repairs for estimate compliance.
- Review repair invoices for professional explanation and accuracy
- Work closely with the credit department to ensure accuracy of all customer accounts.
- Perform cashier responsibilities; manage and collect on all cash on delivery (C.O.D.) accounts.
- Provide other clerical and administrative support to as may be needed (type letters, job quotes, purchase orders and other related documents; make appointments and maintain schedules; make copies and use FAX, mail system, or otherwise distribute work related materials both inside and outside of company).
- Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
