TERMINAL OPERATOR/CDL DRIVER, WRANGELL - (CLASS A OR CLASS B) OR BE ABLE TO ATTAIN A CDL WITHIN SIX MONTHS

REPORTS TO: Terminal Manager
POSITION SUMMARY
This person in this position will assist at the fuel terminal and make fuel deliveries as needed (if you hold a current CDL). Responsible for pumping fuel, handling cash transactions with customers, light maintenance and various duties in and around the plant including the warehouse, main tank farm, marinas, office, etc. Perform data entry and/or general office duties as defined by the Plant Manager. Responsible for making deliveries of products to customers via fuel truck as assigned by the Terminal Manager, while providing excellent customer service.
Must possess a valid Class B or Class A CDL with HAZMAT endorsements OR BE ABLE TO ATTAIN A CDL LICENSE WITHIN 6 MONTHS. Maintain a clean driving record and pass all random drug and alcohol tests.
A. JOB DUTIES
Pump fuel and handle cash transactions for all marina customers.
Conduct daily inventory of float stock and restock as necessary.
Monitor drip pans, drip barrels and used oil collection system. Remove as necessary and label containers. Collect and place used sorbents in designated drums.
Fill drummed fuel orders.
Gauge all tanks for fuel depth, water depth and temperature and record in the gauge book on a monthly basis.
Inspect area within the tank farm containment dike for water level and quality on a weekly basis. Drain water as required in presence of the plant manager and record the procedure in the plant safety inspection log book.
Assemble package stock order for barge delivery.
Record closing meter reading and collect meter sheets. Place meter sheets, invoices and cash drawer in office safe at close of day.
Be available to assist with other operations as necessary.
Delivers petroleum products to homes and commercial accounts to include construction and fleet fueling in the local surrounding area.Pick-up and deliver products as scheduled, complete delivery/meter tickets and maintain accurate Fuel Load Form.
Safely operate Company vehicles. Performs all work in a safe and efficient manner.
Performs daily vehicle inspections and report all necessary mechanical repairs to Terminal Manager or Mechanic.
Keeps equipment and vehicle in clean and working order. Performs minor routine maintenance.
Ensures proper procedure is followed for task being performed.
Provides excellent service to all customers both internal and external. Provide sales and service assistance to customers.
Informs management of safety, environmental, and mechanical concerns in a timely manner.
Provides advance notice for time off.
Communicates regularly with dispatch during working hours.
Must be willing to work some overtime during busy periods and be available for call-outs.This position requires overtime and may be called upon to provide call out duties.
Dress Code: This position requires the incumbent to wear a company provided uniform. Drivers should dress for the current outdoor conditions and wear over the ankle boots. Blue or Black jeans are acceptable, and shorts and sweatpants are not allowed. Uniforms are to be kept clean so as to maintain their useful life and present a clean image.

D. ESSENTIAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS: (Any equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience)
Education: High School diploma or GED is required.
Experience: A minimum of two years driving experience in Alaska with a class B OR A CDL with HAZMAT endorsements.
Licensure/Certification: Valid Class B or A, Driver’s Medical Card, Hazmat endorsements. Must carry a Transportation Worker Identification Card and pass Transportation Security Administration Background Check or be able to attain a TWIC Card within 30 days of hire date. Must be able to pass a pre-hire drug screening, and background check. A Petro 49 pre-hire driving test will be administered after the interview process, this test will include pre-trip inspection, maneuvering, and on road driving.
Other Qualifications:
Attendance: Regular attendance is a requirement of this position.
Language Skills: Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees, customers, or service provider to facilitate problem resolutions and deliver exceptional customer service.
Physical Demands: This is an extensive physical position that requires constant mobility of varying types depending on the project. Individual may need to climb, sit, stand, crawl or kneel/bend while performing work tasks. Requires walking on varying surfaces, including uneven or hazardous and slippery conditions throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required. Proper lifting techniques required. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 - 75 pounds routinely, and repeatedly carry fuel hoses across rough uneven terrain. Must be willing to wear any required PPE. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time and participate in highly active physical duties. Must be able to safely operate company vehicles.
Work Environment: The performance of this position requires exposure to industrial areas and in some locations, marine locations. The use of personal protective equipment such as appropriate footwear, safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection may be required. Industrial areas include hazardous chemicals, fumes, and petroleum by-products.
