The Payroll Processor is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of their assigned section semi-monthly payroll. Provide consistent delivery of outstanding customer service and payroll support to all their internal and external customers. Assist the payroll manager with all assigned tasks.
RESPONSIBILITIES (Specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to):
Process the semi-monthly payroll accurately and timely for assigned sections.
Responsible for obtaining and processing the proper payroll forms from each assigned section for all benefit deductions.
Prepare and post all payroll related journal entries for the sections not currently part of our payroll processing
Responsible for maintaining the payroll master file form for each assigned payroll.
Maintain all confidential payroll and tax files.
Ensure timely deposit of all 401K, IRA, H.S.A., and 529 plan contributions.
Create and distribute payroll related reports as requested.
Responsible for reviewing all payroll vendor invoices.
Provide Payroll support to assigned Sections, Executive Directors and Admins.
Assist the payroll manager with corporate payroll processing tasks as needed.
Distribute paychecks, W2’s, tax statements as required by law.
Process garnishments, tax levies, employment verifications and third-party sick pay.
Ensure compliance with all Federal, State and Local payroll laws.
Monitor various time off accruals as necessary.
Responsible for completion of State payroll tax applications for new sections assigned.
Continually reviews the current payroll process and makes recommendations for improvements.
Coordinate preparation for annual workers' compensation and 401K audits.
Act as back up for processing of other company payrolls as needed.
Generate annual retirement plan census data as necessary.
Maintain and update all Federal and State Minimum wage rates in the payroll system.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Two years of experience with online payroll processing in a multi-state environment. Strong Excel skills required.
Workday experience preferred.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Must have knowledge of multi-state payroll processing.
Ability to build rapport with various departments along with established vendors.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
Proven efficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Suite with an emphasis in Excel. Knowledge of Payroll processing systems,
Workday preferred. Knowledge of Financial Information systems, WorkdayCLE preferred.
Ability to travel up to 15%.
