Seeking a Director of Strategy to join our leadership team.
Working with C-suite and reporting to the CFO, the Strategy Director is responsible for shaping and executing the organization's strategic initiatives, including collaborating with our PE sponsor to execute M&A.
The Strategy Director will also be instrumental in change management and post M&A integration. Candidates with prior experience in Strategy Consulting highly desired.
Responsibilities
• Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify opportunities, threats, and market trends. Provide insights and recommendations related to change management and M&A integration.
• Competitive Intelligence: Stay informed about competitors' activities and market dynamics, and develop strategies to maintain or gain a competitive edge while ensuring a smooth transition for all stakeholders. • Work with PE sponsor on acquisition valuation
• Evaluate target companies for financial, operational, and strategic fit, and incorporate all potential transaction impacts into any financial modeling and/or go-forward recommendations • Financial analysis and thought leadership for major strategic initiatives across the organization.
• Partners with the finance and leadership teams to conduct strategic reviews of active prospective acquisitions to assess performance against strategic objectives and financial targets
• Partner with business to gather and vet business case assumptions and underlying rationale; research
internal and external metrics to develop benchmarks to sanity-check assumptions
• Storyboard presentations and deck development related to project outputs and other relevant topics
• Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and market research to support high impact projects
• Partner with systems teams to improve reporting capabilities and enable relevant data capture in source systems
• Gather data and build robust processes for analyzing results and identifying variations against expectations
• Work with business leaders to formulate and track KPIs to identify trends and potential issues
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, and related fields; MBA a plus
• 8 years of relevant experience, including 3 years in strategy consulting
• Outstanding leadership with 4 years of people management experience
• Proven experience in a strategic leadership role, with a strong background in change management and M&A integration.
• Highly analytical with strong attention to detail
• Capable of solving complex business problems
• Ability to distill complex issues into structured frameworks and concrete action plans
• Critical thinker who can sift through complex data to identify meaningful insights and clearly articulate the story to the team
• Highly organized, with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Enthusiastic self-starter that takes initiative and ownership of their role
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel; PowerBI and Power queries strongly preferred
• Experience with NetSuite and Concur ERP platforms is a plus but not required
• Applicants with less experience may be considered for a Senior Manager level role
