Job Summary:
Primary responsibilities of our Food Runners is to quickly and carefully deliver food and beverages directly to the table and to deliver hands on service throughout the entire guest experience. Constant guest interaction is the food runner’s specialty.
Duties / Responsibilities/ Job requirements:
- Ability to accurately read food tickets and correctly calculate and expedite completed food dishes accordingly to longest ticket times expedited first (except for recooks and special requests).
- Ability to promptly inform all Managers of any long time check, as per the company ticket time standards.
- Working knowledge of all food recipes and specs to ensure quality assurance of all food products.
- Working knowledge and consistent focus on food safety standards.
- Food runners must always maintain an outgoing personality and be consistently friendly with excellent communication skills.
- Food runners must have the ability to safely carry and balance several plates of food at one time with a good pace.
- Food runners must have the ability to quickly read expedited food checks and to correctly deliver food to the table number(s) listed on the food checks.
- Food runners must have the ability to ensure that all guest expectations have been met before leaving the table.
- The ability to clearly communicate with guests and to both servers and/or a manager with any concerns or problems with a guest, such as a long time ticket, a food item that is incorrect or is undesirable to the guest.
- The ability to refill all non alcoholic drinks for guests and to clearly communicate with servers in the event that a guest requests a food or beverage item.
- A consistent positive attitude, handles stress well, and maintains a quick pace and the desire to have fun at work.

- Approach all tables with a warm, outgoing approach and correctly issue all food and beverage items to our guests. Creates regulars by interacting with guests throughout their dining experience.
- Observes tables and keeps track of clean, dirty and occupied tables. Pre-bus and bus tables as needed. Informs Bussers of dirty tables.
- Maintains filled water and tea pitchers, regularly tours the restaurant to interact with our guests and to provide refills to seated guests.
- Interacts regularly with seated guests to attend to any needs that the server may have missed or that the guest needs.
