Boutique entertainment law firm Philips Marell LLP is seeking a highly motivated Coordinator who will handle a variety of duties - administrative and production, and legal-centric - and is eager to learn and support the daily operations for two experienced entertainment lawyers. Candidates interested in production and the law will gain first-hand experience and mentorship in connection with the legal aspects of all stages of scripted and unscripted film and television production, from development through delivery. Position will be a combination of remote and in-person in Los Angeles. If an individual holds a J.D. and is barred in California, they will be hired as a coordinator with the opportunity to be trained in entertainment and production law and possibility of moving into an associate position with the firm.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the execution and distribution of development, production, and post-production agreements for a high-volume of clients and projects;
- Provide administrative assistance, including preparing engagement letters, invoices, managing calls, emails, filing documents and scheduling;
- Track the status of deals from start to close and update the status reports accordingly;
- Assist with preparation of legal documents;
- Accurately maintain, organize and update legal filings with the office of the Secretary of State;
- Assist with preparation of credit summaries for television series and motion pictures; and
- Perform other related tasks and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
- Must be capable of working with confidential legal information;
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Zoom and other management systems;
- Must be extremely detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to multi-task;
- Excellent communication skills;
- College degree is required, J.D. is preferred;
