This Sales Representative position is responsible for managing the Branded Sales, Marketer, and / or Reseller business activities within the assigned geographic region.
This includes cultivating customer relationships while achieving targeted placement goals, and ensuring optimal sales, market growth, and earnings.
Responsibilities May Include :
- Managing sales by providing support and building relationships with existing and new potential customers.
- Identifying growth opportunities with new customers.
- Negotiate contract terms and conditions
- Executing current and long-term marketing strategy.
- Developing and cultivating key customer and industry relationships through timely and in-person meetings.
- Making sales calls to meet established targets utilizing the SFE process.
- Managing Retail Excellence Program expectations and improvements.
- Managing contract compliance.
- Provide market intelligence and data on competitive activity to Brand Management, Pricing, and other Sales Representatives.
- Managing and resolving customer concerns and issues.
- Support implementation and execution of Phillips 66 programs.
- Prospecting, developing, and expanding new business and market share.
- Develop and implement business plans with customers, including offering consultative support that helps them improve their business and profitability.
- Representing sales by participating on initiative teams as needed.
- Meeting annual volume, profit, controllable costs, and expense targets.
- Interfacing with internal departments creating strong working relationships / efficiencies.
- Coordinate & communicate with other Sales Representatives to minimize and resolve issues between customers, territories, and support groups.
- Evaluating opportunities by applying the appropriate economic model.
- Responsible for forecasting demand for territory.
Required Qualifications :
- Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
- Bachelor's degree
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must be willing and able to drive up to 60% of the time within assigned region (outside of territory up to an additional 5%)
- 1 or more years of experience in Marketing, Transportation, Commercial operations, or other relevant experience
- 1 or more years of experience demonstrating the ability to analyze data and draw conclusions
- 1 or more years of experience demonstrating the ability to positively interact with internal / external customers and establish relationships
- Proficient in communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing, to ensure common understanding with multiple levels of management
- Proficient with PC applications, MS Office applications, and data management; able to gather and interpret data from separate systems
Preferred Qualifications :
- Result-oriented : experience driving results and delivering real business improvements
- Leadership : experience leading, coaching, and developing others to achieve results
- Organizational Skills : experience prioritizing and managing multiple tasks / issues simultaneously
- Project management : has participated in multiple projects or initiatives meeting deadlines
- Negotiating skills : experience finding the most profitable way to complete a deal that works for both sides, while building strong, trusting relationships
- Sound business judgment and complex problem-solving capabilities, able to manage risk effectively
- Previous customer services role or equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of market share, refinery systems, strengths and weaknesses of channels and customers
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, without supervision and direction
- Influencing others : at least one year of experience working with Influence Management, such as conflict resolution and leading internal / external resources to achieve goals
- Strong financial and business acumen
- Having previous P&L responsibility or equivalent responsibility in having to interpret financial information and knowing how to react to it
- Experience using a CRM such as or equivalent to manage interactions with customers
- Experience consulting and providing expert advice in a specialized field to either internal and / or external clients
- Ability to research (concepts, ideas & proven facts), possess external focus on markets and customers
- Previous Sales and or Retail experience or equivalent
- Excellent planning, strategic thinking, teamwork, and business skills
- Fortitude to challenge the status quo and drive meaningful change when engaging both internally and externally
