Summary:
We are seeking a URD Journeyman Lineman to join our T&D Services team in Florida and Alabama.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
o Perform underground line installation and maintenance with minimal or no supervision. This includes installing conduit by HDD and open trench methods, pulling cable, setting padmount transformers and pedestals, splicing and terminating underground cable, and setting meter bases.
o Must know and understand state and local laws, DOT, and OSHA standards
o Perform services in a safe and timely manner.
o Must be able to understand and complete required paperwork and documentation of the services.
o Communicates with customers, property owners, general public, other contractors, utility representatives, and government agencies.
o Maintain company equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Will be responsible for training and coaching other crew members. Must be able to supervise crew in Foreman's absence.
Requirements:
o Clean driving record, with a Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
o Ability to read and interpret prints and plans.
o Effective communication skills.
o Ability to install underground distribution cable, including splicing and termination.
o Must have Utility Switching and Tagging experience.
o Must be able to perform and direct any and all energized line work in the performance of the services.
o Be able to lift/move 50 pounds.
o Must be able to pass a skills assessment at start of employment.
o Pass pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check.
Education and Experience:
2 / 2
o High School Diploma or GED.
o 5 or more years of experience as an Underground Apprentice/Journeymen Lineman.
o Completion of an accredited Lineman Apprentice Program, or verifiable work experience as an Apprentice/Journeymen Lineman.
o Horizontal Directional Drilling experience a plus.
