JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Data Specialist works collaboratively with the Child First Program. The Data Specialist reports directly to the Director of Child First. Focus of this role is on data entry, data management and on evaluating program outcomes over time to maximize the effectiveness, efficiency, and delivery of quality public health services. This role will enter all service delivery, admission, discharge, demographic, and other pertinent data into a database and will be responsible for the timely recording and reporting of data.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs data entry support primarily for Child First, including entry of services rendered for billing purposes
- Utilizes computerized data entry equipment and various word processing, spreadsheet, and other related software programs to enter, store, and retrieve information as requested or otherwise necessary
- Accesses and enters data into local, national, and internal databases and stays abreast of changes in reporting requirements
- Communicates effectively and regularly with other data team members regarding progress and identification of potential database improvements, challenges, and conflicts
- Manages the intake and entry of clients into billing system
- Attends meetings related to data reporting held by various stakeholders/funders.
- Complies with data entry procedures and security policies
- Preserves confidentiality and adheres to HIPPA regulations
- Maintains and monitors data accuracy and logs errors to identify and report patterns
- Develops support/remediation strategies as needed
- Helps train new staff responsible for timely data entry and accuracy
- Troubleshoots off site network issues and reports to IT Help Desk and others
- Performs general clerical functions such as photocopying, filing, labeling, preparing/sending correspondence, reports, and other documents as needed
- Assumes other responsibilities as needed

Administrative Activities
- Ensures compliance with all PHMC’s policies and procedures, including confidentiality and acting as a mandated reporter in accordance with the law, policies, and procedures.
- Implements all documentation requirements, reports are complete, thorough, timely, and follow prescribed format. Ensures staffs do the same.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Ability to work effectively with a team-oriented environment.
- Maintains appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality.
- Ability to administer First Aid and CPR, if necessary.
EDUCATION REQUIRMENT:
- Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Child Abuse, PA Criminal Record Check, FBI and Medical clearances, as well as any other clearances required by the contract or agency policy.
