We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Subject Matter Expert I.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The JLCCTC SME-1 (Subject Matter Expert 1) reports up through the JLCCTC Engineering Management team and provides task-unique functional expertise needed to interpret system/customer requirements, that it performs successfully and ensures responsiveness. Additionally, this position will be assigned other projects or tasks in alignment with the level and scope of the position.

  • Provide functional expertise necessary to interpret requirements, ensure responsiveness and achieve successful performance.
  • Provide expertise in subject matter and unique technical knowledge.
  • Assist engineering staff with the analysis, evaluation and implementation of systems and other engineering tasks.
  • Develop and review test procedures for the newly developed functional capabilities.
  • Perform functional and regression testing on the target baseline and create tickets on the findings.
  • Mentor junior test engineers on the subject matter, testing methods and principles. 
  • Provide Tier 2 helpdesk support (remote and onsite)
  • Provide onsite support to technical and functional staff during training exercises Evaluate client interface ensuring efforts and guidelines are meeting customer requirements.
  • Assess Program requirements, functional designs, plans and schedules, and provide recommendations.
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of documentation
  • Consult with system engineers and management on subject matter of simulated capabilities.
  • Consult with executive management on subject matter on establishing and altering policies.
  • Client interface ensuring efforts and guidelines are meeting customer requirements.          

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience supporting IT projects/programs, networking, integration and/or systems engineering or DoD Contract/US Military Service.
  • Experience providing high-level presentations and white papers for system engineering reviews, product development, analysis, and validation and verification of engineering solutions
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.
  • Highly proficient interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Holds or able to obtain a minimum DOD Secret security clearance.
  • Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Domestic and International travel to Military Installations in support of JLCCTC Program activities is required.

Optional Desired Certificate

  • Prior experience with the US Army Mission Command Training Program (MCTP), other Mission Command Training Complexes or any other training utilizing JLCCTC system.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.
