What are the responsibilities and job description for the Office Assistant position at Physical Therapy Central?
Location South OKC
Summary:
Some overall job responsibilities include working together with the Office Manager, greeting and checking in patients, answering questions, collecting patient co-pays, processing paperwork, and scheduling appointments. You will also help keep our records and work areas clean and organized, as well as ensure our office provides a welcoming environment for our patients. Previous history working with insurance benefits, pre-authorization and approvals is preferred.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of insurance benefits, deductibles, co-payments related to the delivery of medical care
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and general office equipment
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and remain friendly and professional
- Ability and willingness to treat all patients with the utmost kindness and consideration in the most trying situations
- Friendly personality with the desire to work with the public
- Ability to prioritize and follow up on completion of tasks
- Ability to relate to the public regardless of ethnic, religious, and socioeconomic status
Experience:
6 months to 1 year of experience working in a medical office or in a relevant administrative medical role preferred
