Micro-Electronics Technician

PI (Physik Instrumente) LP in Hopkinton MA has an immediate opening for a Micro-Electronics Technician for nano positioning and micro positioning products.  This is full time position, Monday to Friday, day shift only. Our ideal candidate will be engaged in mounting microelectronic sensors used in our precision nanopositioning products.  Position is currently based in Hopkinton MA and will move to Marlborough MA within 1 year.

 Essential Responsibilities for Micro-Electronics Technician: 

• Mounting and bonding silicon strain gauges to metal substrates.
• Micro-assembly of high performance motion devices requiring precision alignments
• Soldering of small gauge wires (28 gauge – 36 gauge) and electrical components
• Working on small devices under a microscope

Desired Experience for Micro-Electronics Technician:

• Moderate soldering experience is a must. IPC J-STD-001 experience is desired
• Experience working on microelectronics or other micro-assemblies under a microscope.
• ESD control and awareness
• Interpret mechanical and electrical product documentation
• Use of multi-meters, wire strippers, and standard hand tools
• Follow 5S and lean manufacturing principles and practices in an ISO 9001 manufacturing environment

Key Requirements for Micro-Electronics Technician:

• All levels of experience will be considered
• Experience in a related field preferred; Training/Education in lieu of experience will be considered
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education desirable
• Candidates must be able to produce evidence of the permanent ability to live and work in the US as an employment contingency
