Position Summary:
Provide customer assistance in bagging groceries, parcel pick-up service, collecting carts and providing support to maintain clean and safe store conditions. Demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.
Essential Job Functions:
- Demonstrate teamwork to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant working and shopping environment.
- Provide friendly and efficient customer service by demonstrating sincerity, patience and respect in all customer interactions and by thanking customers for their business.
- Greet customers in a genuine and friendly manner throughout the store and assist them by escorting them to products, loading/unloading heavy items and helping them to retrieve out of reach items.
- Effectively communicate with customers and respond to questions and requests in a timely manner. Provide excellent customer service when bagging groceries by asking if the customer prefers paper or plastic and use the least amount of bags while ensuring individual bags are not too heavy.
- Operate equipment (e.g., carts, mop, broom, dust mop, scraper, compactor, bags and cleaning utensils) per company guidelines.
- Collect carts in a safe manner, transport them to the cart room and remove all debris from carts.
- Maintain clean and dry floor conditions at all times, answer clean up calls promptly and clean up messes and spills quickly and thoroughly.
- Assist customers with bagging and carrying groceries out to their vehicles (parcel pick-up).
- Maintain proper shelf presentation and stock accessibility by removing empty/nearly empty product boxes off shelves, condensing shelf stock and performing shop back duties.
- Break cardboard down, collect it in the bin and place it in the proper area.
- Collect trash from inside and outside of the store, transport it in bins to the compactor and dispose of it properly (must be 18 years of age or older to operate the disposal).
- Utilize personal protective devices (e.g., chemical resistant gloves, safety glasses/goggles, rubber over boots, chemical splash goggles) per company guidelines.
- Comply with and reinforce all food safety, sanitation and safety regulations/guidelines/procedures and programs according to company, local, state, and federal health code regulations; identify unsafe conditions and notify store management.
- Follow all store and department policies and procedures.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties, including cleaning the front-end, stocking bags at the end of registers, cleaning bathrooms, picking up trash and weeding around the store.
- Physical demands include, but are not limited to, frequently standing, stooping/bending, reaching, walking, turning, kneeling, exposure to outside conditions, lifting/carrying objects up to 50 to 100 lbs. and pushing/pulling objects up to 70 to 650 lbs. Occasionally stand and walk on uneven ground, squat, and push/pull objects 650 to 1,000 lbs.

Desired Previous Job Experience/Education:

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $10.60 - $11.96 per hour
