Superior Court Temporary Hire Legal Assistant

This is a fantastic opportunity as a temporary employee within the Pierce County Superior Court to learn much more about what happens in Criminal Administration. In the Criminal Administration office, you will provide assistance to Attorneys, Judges and Commissioners. You will help clerk in the Criminal Division Courtrooms and answer phone calls and respond to emails in the Criminal Administration office. This position can last up to 6 months.

Pierce County Superior Court consists of 23 elected Judges, 10 appointed Commissioners, 46 Judicial Department Staff Members and a Court Administrator, Deputy Court Administrator and 33 administrative staff members. Core Daily Responsibilities:

• Assigned to work or cover Superior Court Administration offices for Criminal Administration.
• Provide technical assistance and procedural support to the Legal Assistant information to the and other justice system personnel and agencies.
• Support the Criminal Division Courtrooms in Clerking.
• Support the overall Criminal Administration process.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A minimum of six months experience in a legal staff support function preferred.
