SUMMARY:
This role is a key operational governance and support position for Pike Engineering. The Director – Performance Support is a critical agent for moving the Engineering organization forward to position the business for the future. The position reports directly to the VP – Engineering, and administers duties on behalf of the VP, often interfacing as a peer to executives (VPs and directors) operating the business.
As business is experiencing aggressive expansion, year-over-year growth is forecast to be 15% - 20%, with margins improving as the increased volume of business affords economies of scale and business efficiency. Under the direction of this leader, support staff will develop solutions, standards, tools, templates, and other resources to support consistent operations and use of best practices. The individual will also direct operational process improvements to provide alignment, clarity of responsibilities, and efficiencies, while at the same time, enabling field operations to differentiate themselves with customer-centered (and often unique-to-the-client) services and work products. By leading initiatives across Engineering, the Director will take on responsibilities that support operations, allowing operations teams to focus on customers, employees, and growth of their respective business.
The position is responsible for operational support, governance, strategic and business planning, as well as leading collaboration with corporate support functions to integrate support effectively and produce outcomes that position the business for the future.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Accountable for leading and facilitating business planning activities; integration of business plans to financial plans. Plan and manage on behalf of the President implementation of the business plan as it is executed by the operations (Regions / Lines of Business).
Responsible for strategic and tactical initiatives, maintaining mechanisms to track progress, reinforce accountability, and identify variances to initiative status for the purpose of taking corrective action.
Facilitate monthly leadership forums for accountability to reinforce transparency, KPI monitoring, and business effectiveness / operational efficiency
Provide Operations support: Support process improvement, efforts to optimize resources and reduce fixed costs.
Provide business analysis to produce intelligence and insight informing business improvement and corrective action planning.
Provide exemplary leadership of direct reports to identify and solve major issues within the organization. Setting a positive culture that permeates their organization.
Lead interface between Engineering and support organizations (Finance, IT, HR) to improve and integrate support promoting efficiency, effectiveness, and employee engagement.
Manage the Engineering Technology Plan and direct improvements to leverage technology and associated processes across Engineering.
Provide (light) governance to align operational performance through consistency, standards, policies, and by clarifying business controls, while at the same time enabling field operations to differentiate their products and services with customer-centered (and often unique-to-the-client) tailored solutions.
Builds a strong rapport with other leaders across the enterprise to accomplish mutual goals and objectives for the organization.
Develop assigned leaders and identify future leaders through succession planning and leadership development.
Provide leadership to a small team initially but potentially grow to potentially 20-40 employees.
Ultimately responsible for all activities under their assigned organization and other duties as agreed to with executive team.
Some travel may be required.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Business Administration, Engineering, Data Analysis, or applicable program.
Preferred Graduated Degree in Business or related Field
5-10 years’ experience in financial planning and analysis, business process improvement, or operational support and governance.
Certifications or training in process engineering, project management, continuous improvement, or other management or leader training.
Demonstrated organizational and planning skills to achieve goals.
High energy level with the ability to work in a fast paced, ambiguous environment.
Additional Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated proficiency Microsoft Word, Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, Adobe Acrobat and QuickBase.
Be held accountable for maintaining all confidences regarding highly sensitive and proprietary information.
Supports the organization’s vision and strategy and demonstrates initiative and personal accountability to meet work demands according to the highest standard.
