About the Position:
In this role you will:
- Be responsible for bread bakes including baguettes, boules, toaster loaves, steakhouse bread, and pizza dough.
- Be making doughs (from scratch) to support those bakes.
- Make and bake-off cookies, scones, and sweets.
- Be charged with maintaining retail case cleanliness along with re-stocking retail items as needed.
- Be working on general bakery prep for items like cinnamon roll dough, making cakes, cookies, brownies, ice cream, roasting nuts, pies and more; this includes packaging items as needed.
- Be responsible for your own dishes after the kitchen dishwasher has left for the day.
- Be responsible for closing the bakery including turning everything off, sweeping, taking out the trash, and cleaning prep tables.
Essential Requirements:
- Prior bakery experience required.
- Knowledge of hearth bread baking techniques and equipment.
- Ability to work independently.
- Flexible availability.
- Willingness to ask questions and continually learn about our store and our industry.
- Strong work ethic.
- Must present a favorable image of Pilgrim’s Market through contacts with customers, vendors, co-workers, other businesses.
- Ability to provide and receive feedback to grow and develop you and your team.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. repeatedly.
- Ability to work in both hot and cold environments for extended periods as needed.
- Ability to work on your feet for the entire shift.
- Ability to work at or above should height.
- Ability to complete a variety of repetitive motion actions utilizing both lower and upper extremities.
- Ability to conduct repeated overhead lifting.
- Ability to comply with all Idaho laws regarding food safety and sanitation.
- Operate (at minimum) the following equipment in a correct and safe manner: phone and intercom system, up to 80 qt mixers, rotating oven, convection oven, hearthstone bread steam injected oven, proofing cabinets, bread slicer, dough divider, dough sheeter, range top, knives, labeler.
