What are the responsibilities and job description for the ACCOUNTANT position at Piling Inc?

We are a local family owned construction company servicing the petrochemical industry seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial records, and providing support to our management team as needed.
This is a full time Position but only requires working 36 hours per week. Friday's are half days.

MUST HAVE A MINIMUN OF 5 YEARS EXPERIENCE

Prepares internal financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system.
Prepares and post monthly general ledger journal entries.
Maintains general ledger accounts through monthly reconciliation.
Reconcile Bank Accounts and monitor cash transactions.
Maintain fixed assets and depreciation expense.
Maintain integrity of general ledger, including chart of accounts.
Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close processes.
Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
Oversee accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses.
Gather information and assist with annual tax return.
Prepares and remits monthly, quarterly and annual sales tax filings and payments.
Provides and remits quarterly 1120 Tax Payments.
Prepares various accounting reports for management.
Prepares correspondence as needed within the office.
Assists supervision and management as needed in a timely manner.

Salary : $70,000 - $75,000
